Senior Minister


Russell graduated with a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2009 and a Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas , in 2005.  He is he author of Loser, which is about his time in ministry and finding new life after a variety of experiences of grief and loss and Raising Presidents: The Unique Perspective of a Stay-at-Home-Dad and Working Mom on Parenting in Today's World.  He lives in Fort Worth, Texas, with his wife, Shannon and two daughters, Kennedy and Reagan.

Jessie Button

Worship Minister | Office Administrator

Jessie came to know music and Jesus in her hometown of Monroe, Connecticut, but it was here in her now beloved North Texas home that she began leading others to Christ through praise and worship, and raised her son Brady, a student at Texas Tech.  The Disciples of Christ church in Azle Texas quickly became home to her as she learned she was more than accepted for who she is - she was celebrated for being her unique self.  She's a leader, a growth & self-development junkie, an admin & marketer, an author, a closet songwriter, an accidental influencer, a former child actor, guitar collector, and foodie.  Jessie's mostly looking forward to expanding her ministry through publishing her first book, a devotional for high-achievers, and pursuing her masters in theology/divinity, all with which to help GROW the Disciples of Christ church.

Joey Garcia

Youth Minister

Jose (Joey) Garcia recently joined our Ministry team as the Youth Minister.  He has a wife and a 2 year old son.  Joey has a Bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University.  He has worked in all aspects of ministry including youth, young adults, and worship; loves to play basketball and is a Mavericks and Cowboys fan.   Joey is looking forward to being a part of our ministries and serving the Azle Christian Church community!
